The Dérailleurs

Who are we?

A gay, lesbian, and straight-friendly* mountain biking club,
open to all,
in Paris and in the various French regions.

About a hundred men and women,
regulars and occasional participants,
of all skill levels
from beginners to experts.

We ride for fun,
not taking ourselves too seriously,
in all corners of France,
and sometimes further afield.

*Homosexuals, heterosexuals, fighting together against homophobia and discrimination... sharing our common passion, riding the trails.

Mountain biking...

is a sport of the great outdoors. It’s also an opportunity to share the pleasure of great trails and of discovering some of France’s beautiful forests and mountains.

If you live in France

The Dérailleurs in the Parisian region ride every Sunday in one of the numerous forests in Ile-de-France, easily accessible by train from central Paris. The groups in the various regions organize weekend rides as well. The details of each ride, including how to get to the meeting point as well as contact information for the guide, are listed in our calendar. If you’re new to the sport, come try an "un pignon" (one chainring) ride - the easiest grade on our scale from one to three. A helmet, gloves, and eye protection are strongly recommended, and don’t forget a packed lunch and enough to drink. You’ll recognize the members of the club on the train platform by the yellow ribbon on their handlebars.

We also organize weekend getaways, and summertime week-long rides in France and elsewhere (Italy, Spain, Morocco, Québec...).

If you have questions about the club’s activities, feel free to contact us, or join one of our monthly outings to a restaurant in Paris.
